SIGNED BY AUTHOR WITH PERSONAL NAMED NOTATION. This book explores shamanic stories from different indigenous tribes and cultures around the globe, focusing on the theme of earth creation. The stories in this unique anthology explore how our ancient ancestors viewed the beginnings of the earth, the rivers, the lakes, the oceans, the mountains, the valleys, the clouds, the sky, and the first animals and people as they came into being.
Wide spread testimony from using these stories in a wide variety of settings - including schools, corporate, mental health, hospitals and prisons - proves that these earth creation stories of tribal peoples share common ground in their ability to open minds, hearts and souls.
Adrian is a very accomplished storyteller. He does great work at opening closed hearts. -- Francis Firebrace, Aboriginal Australian Elder of the Yorta Yorta people
This will help all beings and bring peace to the world. -- Llama Khenpo Rinpoche Chime Tsering, Official President of Buddhism, Nepal
"The best book on traditional tales that I have found, none of the rest have even come close. Very easy to read, gives the feeling that you are listening to the story being told. The stories are rich in details, nothing is lost." 5/5 T. Keenan
“Amazing magical insights into the indigenous roots of all our lives – wonderful - every school and curriculum needs this.” 5/5 S.Bright
“Wonderful! Great stories. Well worth reading!” 5/5 Jackie Wacha
“I have to say it's a more substantial book than I expected from the promotional stuff you see online. There are a decent number of good quality pictures throughout, some related to the stories, some about the tribes and traditions the story comes from, and very nice colourplate chapter headers, , which really adds to it. It gives the impression of a book that has had some consideration and effort put into making it a really nice treasure of a book, rather than just text on pages between covers. Though it mentions the number of pages on the online store it's a chunkier paperback than I expected which is always a nice bonus. Now I just have to leave it tucked away safely for a month or two so I can give it to my partner as a xmas present.” 5/5 Ashbeth
“Adrian Beckingham is an inspiration to children with his remarkable ability to retell the stories of old from all over the world. My son adored this book and when the Man from Story Mountain visited his school he was captivated by the stories he told. I really enjoyed reading him the stories at bedtime and would recommend this book.” 5/5 MorganMorgan
“I have devoured this book. The stories are authentic, added to rather than deviated from. There is a quality in them that favours the original sources, they moved my heart. If you have love in your body at all I advise you to read this; if it is absent from you, listen to what has been said . Find and open this treasure chest, you will not wish to lend this book to your friends ! rather it will be one of those closely guarded and protected books which you may wish to hide. Provocative, in that cultures so far apart sometimes have similar views on creation, when we look upon truth it is hard to ignore.” 5/5 Debbie Sayers

The Man From Story Mountain
Beginning back in the year 1994, as 'The Man From Story Mountain' I have visited over 1,500 primary schools as a storyteller. Even in Covid 2020 schools have registered me as a key worker so pupils can continue to reap the benefit my stories are attributed to boosting in positive focus and enhanced mental health.
I have also regularly toured festivals and other community groups such as libraries and mental health well being centres.
Glastonbury Festival is one of my long term clients - Europe's largest festival have hired me as a Master Storyteller every year since 1994. My other clients have included the British Museum, the Commonwealth Institute, Her Majesty's Prison Service, National Trust, English Heritage etc.
I won my first national writing award (Probus Club) at the age of 10. At 20 I topped my university in the study of English Literature as well as receiving a position as staff writer for the Newcastle University campus magazine OPUS.
By my early 20s I was a National Coordinator of Greenpeace Australia's Membership Response Unit. I helped co-ordinate campaigns such as successfully turning back Japanese whaling fleets, transforming ineffective city recycling, and halting the woodchipping of old growth forests.
I worked for 7 years as Storyteller/Writer in Residence for the mental health charity South Somerset Mind. Thank you to all those participants who came like clockwork, week in week out, across all that time. You will testify the power of story to heal.
I have been chairman of a charity called The Siddhartha Foundation, which we set up to provide a residential school for over 100 children, mostly Tibetan orphans, in Kathmandu, Nepal.
I am currently Editor-In-Chief of a London based housing magazine working to combat inequality and provide housing solutions for society's most vulnerable.
I am available for talks, storytelling performances and workshops so do be in touch!
