'My 7 year old son has devoured this book. It's his go-to story of choice. This story is helping his reading improve with leaps and bounds. He loves the strange creatures and nonsense words. He even carried it into school to share in his weekly 'Show & Tell' session in the classroom. ' 5/5 Libby Laws
This is a children's chapter book with a bullying awareness theme. A hunchback boy runs alone in a strange forest after being bullied. Legend has it the wood is inhabited by terrifying creatures called Things.
'Taunted and exploited by a local golden boy, who seems to have everything, Hunch sets out on a life changing journey. The challenges that lie ahead are so wild, so unexpected that Hunch s disability is soon the least of his worries. With a delightful dollop of disgusting details, this story is sure to please revolting young readers, whilst delivering a powerful message. Prepare to move to the edge of your seat as this tale is even more twisted than Hunch s hazel walking stick.' 5/5 Lucy
'As a mum, I like it that The King Of The Things is a wonderful tale of a life-long problem in our world. I think the author has captured this with his character Hunch being the object of the bullying. Poor Hunch has to live with all the hurtful things people say & do over something that is beyond his control. He thinks he's a horrible creature, but he really is a good, kind person which The King Of The Things shows him.' 5/5 Simone Mitchell
'It shows what is right or wrong, what is unfair or fair, and kind or horrible in a creative and magical way. It's an unusual story, told from the heart, that stops people judging by looks and knowing that what is important is what's inside people s hearts. If you're someone who likes to be different, you need to read The King of Things.' 5/5 Treya (Age 11, nearly 12!)

STORIES THAT CRAFTED THE EARTH is the best book on traditional tales that I have found, none of the rest have even come close. Very easy to read, gives the feeling that you are listening to the story being told. The stories are rich in details, nothing is lost. 5 stars out of 5
Stories That Crafted The Earth offers amazing magical insights into the indigenous roots of all our lives – wonderful - every school and curriculum needs this. 5/5
“Wonderful! Great stories. Well worth reading!” 5/5
“I have to say it's a more substantial book than I expected from the promotional stuff you see online. There are a decent number of good quality pictures throughout, some related to the stories, some about the tribes and traditions the story comes from, and very nice colourplate chapter headers, , which really adds to it. It gives the impression of a book that has had some consideration and effort put into making it a really nice treasure of a book, rather than just text on pages between covers. Though it mentions the number of pages on the online store it's a chunkier paperback than I expected which is always a nice bonus. Now I just have to leave it tucked away safely for a month or two so I can give it to my partner as a xmas present. 5/5

The Man From Story Mountain
Beginning back in the year 1994, as 'The Man From Story Mountain' I have visited over 1,500 primary schools as a storyteller. Even in Covid 2020 schools have registered me as a key worker so pupils can continue to reap the benefit my stories are attributed to boosting in positive focus and enhanced mental health.
I have also regularly toured festivals and other community groups such as libraries and mental health well being centres.
Glastonbury Festival is one of my long term clients - Europe's largest festival have hired me as a Master Storyteller every year since 1994. My other clients have included the British Museum, the Commonwealth Institute, Her Majesty's Prison Service, National Trust, English Heritage etc.
I won my first national writing award (Probus Club) at the age of 10. At 20 I topped my university in the study of English Literature as well as receiving a position as staff writer for the Newcastle University campus magazine OPUS.
By my early 20s I was a National Coordinator of Greenpeace Australia's Membership Response Unit. I helped co-ordinate campaigns such as successfully turning back Japanese whaling fleets, transforming ineffective city recycling, and halting the woodchipping of old growth forests.
I worked for 7 years as Storyteller/Writer in Residence for the mental health charity South Somerset Mind. Thank you to all those participants who came like clockwork, week in week out, across all that time. You will testify the power of story to heal.
I have been chairman of a charity called The Siddhartha Foundation, which we set up to provide a residential school for over 100 children, mostly Tibetan orphans, in Kathmandu, Nepal.
I am currently Editor-In-Chief of a London based housing magazine working to combat inequality and provide housing solutions for society's most vulnerable.
I am available for talks, storytelling performances and workshops so do be in touch!
